Ms. Azi has seven years working with and for various non-profit organizations.
She began her non-profit career in 2008 with Friends of UNIFAT, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which provides assistance for UNIFAT (Upper Nile Institute for Appropriate Technology) School located in Gulu, Uganda.
She served in various roles including board secretary and acting treasurer.
With FOU, Ms. Azi got a solid introduction to non-profit management, record keeping and strategic planning.
In 2012, Ms. Azi joined the African Cultural Alliance of North America (ACANA), a 501 (c) (3) organization committed to assisting African and Caribbean immigrants in their resettlement in the greater Philadelphia area.
Although originally hired as a staff attorney, Ms. Azi worked in virtually all aspects of the organization, including grant writing, administration, event planning, project management and implementation and fundraising.
In 2015, Ms. Azi along with her mother launched the Norah Anena Foundation; an organization dedicated to uplifting Northern Ugandan peoples through education, cultural restoration and economic development.
Ms. Azi has a wide variety of experience and know-how in starting, maintaining and managing small and medium sized non-profit organizations.
